Connecticut Weather: Slight Thunderstorm Chance Today, Heatwave Begins Sunday

After dealing with rain and temps in the 50s recently, here's a big change in our upcoming forecast.

Connecticut’s first heatwave of the season arrives Sunday in Connecticut as we’ll hit 90 degrees and those temperatures will last through Tuesday before we see some relief on Wednesday.

Before we get to the summer-like heat we have to be prepared for the chance of some brief heavy rain and or a thunderstorm on Friday afternoon, said NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan.

“A few downpours and thunderstorms possible Friday afternoon. Won't last long but keep an eye on the northwestern sky if you're going to be outside tomorrow!,” Hanrahan wrote late Thursday.

Clouds & a quick shower possible tomorrow but also some sunshine high temps in the 70s low 80s. Hazy, hot and humid for Sunday with highs up around 90 & NO rain."
