Here's An Update On Central Middle School Construction For June

The new 125,000 gross square-foot building is being constructed just north of the current school.

GREENWICH, CT — The Central Middle School Building Committee recently shared its second project update as construction on the new CMS continues.

The new 125,000 gross square-foot building is being constructed just north of the current school.

The existing school will continue to function until the new structure is complete and receives a final certificate of occupancy.

According to the latest Central Middle School Campus Connections update, the following work was completed in May:

  • The truck route is Stanwich Road to Orchard Road, avoiding school drop-off and dismissal times (Monday – Friday) and continues to perform well
  • Continuation of footing and foundation systems for the building
  • Start backfill and waterproofing operations within the building footprint
  • Begin footing drain installation
  • Ongoing processing operations of soils

Here is work anticipated to take place in June:

  • Continue installing footing and foundations systems for building structure
  • Situate the underground utilities
  • Continuing backfill operations
  • Start erecting the steel structure of the school building
  • Begin masonry for gym walls
  • Construction work will also take place on Saturdays this month
