Hour-By-Hour Forecast Of Snow, Winter Weather In CT

The National Weather Service's estimations of snow, ice, rain, and temperatures for CT, broken down county-by-county.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the entire state of Connecticut, except for areas along the immediate Connecticut coast in New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties. The advisory is in effect for all of Fairfield, Hartford, Tolland, and Litchfield counties, along with inland sections of New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties.

The entire state is forecast to see some snow accumulation, then a change to freezing rain and sleet and then plain rain. Areas along the immediate coast will see a quicker changeover from snow to just plain rain. The evening commute home Wednesday will not be fun and many school districts could dismiss early on Wednesday. The wintry weather is scheduled to begin in parts of Connecticut around 8 a.m.

For areas along the Fairfield County coast from Greenwich to Stratford, the National Weather Service is predicting up to two inches of snow and ice. Inland areas of Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties are forecast to see 1 to 3 inches of snow and some areas could see up to 5 inches and a tenth of an inch of ice. The New Haven, Middlesex, and New London county coast could see 1 to 2 inches of snow and ice.

In Hartford County 3 to 5 inches of snow is expected along with one tenth of an inch of ice. Tolland County is expected to see 2 to 4 inches of snow and a tenth of an inch of ice. Litchfield County is forecast to see the most amount of snow with some areas receiving up to seven inches of snow. A general 3 to 5 inches of snow is expected in Litchfield County.
