Investigation of Rape Claim Ends with Arrest for Prostitution

After detectives investigated the suspect's claim, she admitted to working as a prostitute, according to Greenwich Police.

An 18-year-old woman named Chastity Angel Plummer called Greenwich Police Saturday afternoon to report that she had been sexually assaulted.

When investigators from the Detective Division and the Special Victims Section were done with their investigation, it apparently turned out that Plummer was working as a prostitute who was stiffed on part of the fee she charged her customer, according to police.

Police were called to the Hyatt Regency Greenwich at 1800 E. Putnam Ave., about 12:38 p.m. Dec. 13. “After an extensive and thorough investigation … it was proven that Plummer had lied and fabricated the entire account of the incident,” according to the police report.

“Plummer also admitted to her involvement in prostitution at the establishment,” officers wrote in their report. The police said they believe the motivation for the false report was made after Plummer failed to receive full payment for services rendered.

Plummer, of Lubbock, TX, was charged with second-degree falsely reporting an incident, interfering with an officer and prostitution. She remains in custody, unable to post $10,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 19 in state Superior Court in Stamford, according to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website.
