GREENWICH, CT — After several weeks, the Islander II Ferry is back in action, according to an announcement on the Town of Greenwich Facebook page.

The vessel was taken out of service in late June after it experienced a mechanical breakdown. The boat was hauled to the shipyard where it underwent repairs. Service to Great Captain Island was suspended at first, although the town was able to offer limited service to the island in recent days.

The Islander II will resume operations on Aug. 6, weather permitting, the town said in the announcement. In the event of inclement weather, call the Ferry Information Hotline at 203-618-7672. For the complete ferry schedule, click here.
