The funding from People’s United Community Foundation will support educational services provided to each child residing in the organization’s shelters. Services include an educational assessment, the development and maintenance of an academic student profile, school transition assistance, tutoring, transportation to and from school, after-school activities, and the facilitation of regular communication among all professionals serving each child.
“Kids in Crisis plays a critical role in helping to stabilize children who are going through an extremely difficult time in their lives,” said Karen Galbo, Marketing, Public and Community Relations Director for People’s United Community Foundation.” Their work ensures that each child continues to attend school, is able to focus on scholastic and extra-curricular pursuits and has the opportunity to experience academic, social and emotional success.”
