Lamont To Hold Fundraiser For Biden In Greenwich: Report
Gov. Ned Lamont will hold a fundraiser for presidential candidate Joe Biden in Greenwich.
GREENWICH, CT — As voters prepare to head to the polls for local elections on Nov. 5, many are already looking ahead to the presidential election next year. With that in mind, Governor Ned Lamont and his wife, Annie, will host a fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden at their home in Greenwich this month.
According to the Hartford Courant, the Lamont's will open their home to Democrats on Oct. 20 in support of the former vice president. The suggested contribution for the event is $2,800, which is the maximum amount for the presidential primary cycle.
Biden is a front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, along with Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, according to a number of recent polls.

The event is not the first time Lamont has shown his support for Biden. In July, the Connecticut governor endorsed Biden's candidacy on his personal Twitter page.
"When my campaign needed a final push last fall, [Joe Biden] was there. I've gotten to know him more over the years and now, I'm grateful that he's thrown his hat in the ring to run against President Trump," Lamont said on Twitter. "As Democrats, we are fortunate to have such an impressive field. The strength of our candidates is good for our democracy and for us as a nation. Joe has spent his entire life fighting for hard working American families. That's the kind of president we need now more than ever."

Back in October, as Lamont faced off against Republican candidate Bob Stefanowski in the gubernatorial race, Biden endorsed the Democratic candidate, saying Lamont "has dedicated his life to making sure middle-class families have a fighting chance to get ahead and stay ahead" and that he would "bring a fresh perspective to Hartford."
