Lengthy Sentence Handed Down To 'Prolific' Greenwich Thief: PD
Jerome Shaw was accused of interstate transport of stolen goods, among other crimes.

GREENWICH, CT — A 57-year-old Inwood, NY man, who Greenwich police called "a career criminal" who is believed to have stolen more than $4 million from victims in the town and other Connecticut communities, was sentenced in federal court this month to 15 years in prison, according to officials.
Jerome Shaw was a suspect in at least one home invasion, 15 burglaries and one vehicle theft, between 2011 and 2015, said Greenwich police.
"This conviction was the result of a joint investigation between the F.B.I. and the Greenwich Police Department, with assistance from other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies," wrote Greenwich police in a statement. "The extensive investigation included numerous interviews, search warrants and surveillance operations."

Specific details of crimes Shaw allegedly committed during those years were not disclosed. The case was prosecuted by the Department of Justice's Southern District of New York division.

Added Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz, "He was a prolific burglar. Through a lot of good, old-fashioned hard work, we were able identify him as our suspect."
