Loaded Handgun Seized During Greenwich Traffic Stop: PD
Police said the accused did not have a permit for the handgun.

GREENWICH, CT — Officers seized a loaded handgun and marijuana following a recent traffic stop in the Byram area of town, police said. According to an arrest report, police stopped Everette Worthington, 38, of Silver City, Miss., at the intersection of West Putnam Avenue and Byram Road at about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
After further investigation, officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle, police said.
According to Lieutenant John Slusarz, officers searched the vehicle and found a glass container of about seven grams of marijuana.

Officers also located a loaded 32 caliber pistol, which the accused did not have a permit for, Slusarz said.
The accused was arrested on charges of possession of a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to obey traffic control sign, police said.
