CT Weather: Not A Great Mother's Day Weekend Forecast

The weather has been good thus far this week, well that will be changing quickly. Here are the latest details.

As we all know Mother's Day weekend is this weekend but sadly the weather is not cooperating as we're looking at lots of clouds and rain showers this weekend. The next few days look pretty unstable, except for Friday, which looks beautiful.

According to the National Weather Service, we could see some thunderstorms today and on Saturday. Connecticut could see up to a half inch of rain starting Saturday afternoon.

The National Weather Service says, "morning fog with patchy drizzle will burn off by mid morning today. Thereafter, there will be a chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly this afternoon onward, as a cold front approaches from the west."

"Temperatures will be seasonable, ranging from the middle 60s to middle 70s, with cooler conditions expected along coastal areas. The chances for precipitation will decrease tonight as the cold front approaches coastal areas and then pushes off shore. Winds will shift to the west and then northwest as high pressure builds in. Lows will be a few degrees above normal for this time of year, in the 50s region-wide.

"The end of the week will feature dry conditions with high pressure over the area. However, unsettled conditions return for at least the first half of the weekend."
