Man Accused Of Illegal Lobster Fishing In Greenwich: Report

Police said a lobsterman is accused of illegally fishing from nearly 100 lobster traps in the waters of Greenwich and Stamford.

STAMFORD, CT — Police said a Stamford lobsterman is accused of illegally fishing from 94 lobster traps at the end of lat year, the Greenwich Time is reporting. The alleged incidents occurred in the waters of both Stamford and Greenwich, police said.

According to the Greenwich Time, the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has charged Eugene Karbowski, 72, with 94 counts of fishing untagged lobster parts and 84 counts of fishing lobster pots with a recreational license among other charges.

He was arraigned at the Stamford courthouse Tuesday and is next due in court on May 15.
