Man Arrested with One Kilogram of THC-Laced Fruit Snacks: Greenwich PD

The fruit snacks were packaged for sale, police said.

GREENWICH, CT—Police arrested a Rensselaerville, New York man after he was found to have more than a kilogram of gummy fruit snacks that were laced with THC, the active chemical in marijuana, according to police.

Police were exiting the CVS on West Putnam Avenue Dec. 9 when they smelled marijuana. A store manager directed the officers to a man who he thought smelled of marijuana and just exited the store, police said.

Police approached Charles Walters, 39, and he admitted to having an ounce of marijuana in the center console of his vehicle, according to police.

Fruit snacks weighting more than a kilogram were also located in six separate bags. They were found to contain THC, police said.

Walters was charged with possession of marijuana over four ounces and possession of marijuana over one kilogram with intent to sell. He was released on a $300 bond.
