Man Charged In Connection With 2016 Greenwich Identity Theft Case: PD
Greenwich police said a California man turned himself in on an active arrest warrant on May 1.

GREENWICH, CT — A California man turned himself in to police on May 1 on an active arrest warrant in connection with an identity theft and larceny case from 2016, according to the Greenwich Police Department.
Jeremy O'Connell, 27, of Los Angeles, Calif., was charged with criminal attempt at third-degree larceny; sixth-degree larceny; three counts of taking a credit card without consent; 22 counts of illegal use of a credit card with presumption of knowledge of revocation; seven counts of second-degree identity theft; interfering with an officer; and conspiracy, his arrest report shows.
Police said O'Connell "unlawfully removed" several credit cards from someone's wallet and used them for personal purchases on March 28, 2016.

He also assumed the identification of the person and made $376.23 worth of purchases, police noted. He had an attempted purchase of $2,399 at an Apple Store which was not completed due to security measures taken by the business.
O'Connell was also charged with violation of probation, police said, stemming from previous criminal charges.

He was able to post a total bond of $40,000 and was assigned a court date of May 15 in Stamford, an arrest report says.
