On Jan. 6, 2021, the GPD investigated the untimely death of a 33-year-old Old Greenwich resident, which was suspected to be the result of a drug overdose, police said.

Police said the source of the drugs traced back to two people, one of whom was Bridge.

"These subjects were involved in a conspiracy to sell fentanyl and counterfeit benzodiazepam pills marketed as Xanax and/or Alprazolam," police said in a news release Thursday.

Police said Bridge used the dark web to obtain and sell Xanax/Alprazolam pills. With the help of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, detectives seized a shipment of 1,000 pills that were going to be delivered to Bridge's home, police said.

"Most of the pills seized during a search warrant execution at Bridge’s home and those from the seized shipment were other prescription medications, such as Etizolam, forged and pressed to have the same appearance as Xanax/or Alprazolam," police explained in a news release.

An arrest warrant for Bridge was obtained this month, police said, noting that the investigation in Bridge’s co-conspirator is still ongoing.

"Greenwich police continue to focus special attention on those who sell or distribute illegal drugs within our community," the department added in a news release. "We urge individuals, or the families of individuals, suffering from drug addiction to seek help."
