Man Charged With Identity Theft, Forgery: Greenwich PD

GREENWICH, CT — A New York man accused of using a fake identity to have packages sent to him was arrested Thursday by Greenwich Police on identity theft, forgery and other charges, police said. According to an arrest report, 39-year-old Wai Chung Khoong of Brooklyn, N.Y., was picked up by Greenwich Police at the Westchester County Jail on an active warrant Thursday.

Police said they received a call on July 27 from a local retailer, who reported a customer's credit amount had been illegally accessed and used to make purchases, which were then delivered to several different locations.

Officers subsequently located the accused accepting one of the deliveries in Port Chester, N.Y., where he was arrested by New York officers.

The accused was turned over to Greenwich Police on Thursday. He was charged with second-degree forgery, first-degree identity theft, criminal impersonation and first-degree larceny, among other charges.
