Greenwich Man Charged With Manslaughter In Connection With Fatal Overdose: Police
Police had been investigating the overdose death of an 18-year-old resident.

GREENWICH, CT — A 31-year-old Greenwich man has been arrested and charged with manslaughter in connection with an overdose death of an 18-year-old from October 2021, according to police.
On June 15, Meshach Kim was arrested his home on a warrant that charges him with sale of a narcotic substance and second-degree manslaughter, police said. Kim was held on a $500,000 court-set bond, and is scheduled to appear in court on June 29.
On Oct. 28, 2021, Greenwich police officers responded to a suspected drug overdose involving an 18-year-old resident.

Investigators found evidence at the scene that identified Kim as "a possible source" of the drugs, police said at the time.
Kim was arrested on Oct. 28, 2021, and charged with criminal attempt at the sale of a controlled substance, criminal attempt at the sale of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics, police said. He was released on a written promise to appear.

"The subsequent investigation by the GPD narcotics section revealed that fentanyl was listed in the victim's 'cause of death,'" police said in an arrest report.
Detectives identified Kim as the person who supplied the fentanyl, and the GPD secured a warrant for his arrest.
