Man Charged With Operating Drug Factory: Greenwich Police

The arrest came after officers received a report of a man throwing objects around a Greenwich residence and refusing to leave, police said.

GREENWICH, CT — A New York man accused of operating a drug factory was arrested in Greenwich last week, according to police.

In an arrest summary, police said they responded to a Locust Street apartment after receiving reports of a man throwing objects around the residence and refusing to leave.

Officers located the man, later identified by his New York driver's license as Christofer Valitutto, 22, of Cortlandt Manor, New York, in the apartment. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

While searching the apartment, officers located "multiple potted suspected marijuana plants" in a hydroponic grow container in Valitutto's bedroom, according to police. Drug paraphernalia and a "loose leafy green substance" were also found in plain view in the bedroom, police said.

Valitutto was charged with operation of a drug factory, disorderly conduct, possession of less than half an ounce of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and possession with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school zone.
