McFarland was charged with third-degree larceny; second-degree identity theft; second-degree forgery; criminal impersonation; multiple conspiracy charges; and possession of a controlled substance and failure to keep narcotics in an organized container.

On Feb. 8, plainclothes officers noticed "suspicious activity" in the area of the central Greenwich business district involving two people, later identified as Amoyaw and McFarland, and transactions at a local bank, police said, noting that they were detained and ultimately arrested with the help of bike patrol officers.

An investigation found that McFarland successfully used a fraudulent Pennsylvania ID to withdraw $8,200 from a business checking account registered to a fictitious identity, police said.

Officers found the money and illegal narcotics in an unlabeled container while searching McFarland, according to McFarland's arrest report.

A search of Amoyaw's car found a stun gun, additional fraudulent licenses, tax ID documents, social security cards and credit cards with different victims' names, police said.

Both Amoyaw and McFarland were given $25,000 bonds. They're scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 22.
