Mary Jean Putrino, 98, Active Member of 1st Lutheran Church

Mary Jean Putrino, 98, of Greenwich passed away in the early morning of Dec. 4, 2012.


She was born to Andrew and Susan Micik in Jessup, PA. Mary is survived by her son Thomas Putrino, daughter Barbara Belicka; grandchildren; Kim (Scott) Johnston, T.J. Putrino, Cindy (Robert) Wilcox, JB (Leslie) Belicka, Kari (Matt) Cohen, Tammy (Chris) Russo, John Rocco, Jill Putrino, Jessica Putrino; her sister, Mildred Zamfino and 4 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband John Putrino, her son Jack Putrino, brothers John, Emil, William and sister Katherine Szuch.


Besides being known for her tremendous homemaking skills, she was very active in 1st Lutheran Church being one of its first members. She taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Sokol Club. Known for her wit and love of walking, she inspired a walkway at Parsonage Cottage.

Family and friends may visit at the Castiglione Funeral Home, Inc., 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10 at the 1st Lutheran Church, 38 Field Point Rd., Greenwich. Internment to follow at Putnam Cemetery.

The family is especially grateful to all the caring nurses, aides and others at Greenwich Woods: Lori, Magdalena, Karen, Michelle, Carmen, Claudette, Maxine, Rosetta, Cheryl and Barbara and Marguerita, Arisa and Tara among so many others. They made Mom's stay there so very happy and pleasant.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made in her honor to the 1st Lutheran Church, 38 Field Point Rd. Greenwich, CT 06830.
