will be a talk about why one might want to write or read poetry, what poetic
language can do that is
unlike any other kind of language, the pleasures of irony and sincerity, the
ways that artists transform
‘life’ in to art. We’ll be looking at and talking about Elizabeth Bishop and
Sylvia Plath and Ezra
Pound, as well as visual artists like Robert Irwin.
