Michael Mason Announces Campaign For 151st House District In Greenwich
The 151st House District includes portions of Greenwich, Cos Cob, North Mianus, Riverside and Old Greenwich.
GREENWICH, CT — Michael Mason, a former member of the Representative Town Meeting and Board of Estimate and Taxation, has announced his candidacy for Connecticut's 151st House District seat.
Mason, who served on the RTM and BET for nearly 30 years, including 12 years as BET chairman, said he is seeking the seat because of what he described as the growing impact of state-level decisions on Greenwich taxpayers, neighborhoods, schools and local government.

"For years, I've worked to protect taxpayers and ensure Greenwich government lived within its means," Mason said in an announcement. "I've come to believe that many of the issues affecting our community can no longer be solved solely at the local level. We need someone in Hartford who understands Greenwich, respects local decision-making, and will stand up for the people who live here."

Mason cited rising costs, increasing state mandates and affordability concerns as reasons for entering the race.
"Families, seniors, and small businesses are feeling squeezed," Mason said. "Residents want practical solutions, accountability, and a government that listens. Too often, local voices are ignored while one-size-fits-all policies are imposed from Hartford."

According to Mason, his campaign will focus on protecting local control, promoting responsible spending, supporting public safety and encouraging economic growth.
Mason also said he believes state government would benefit from greater debate and consideration of differing viewpoints.
"Good ideas don't belong to one party," he said. "Connecticut is strongest when different viewpoints are heard, challenged, and improved through open discussion. The people of the 151st District deserve a representative who will work independently, ask tough questions, and put the interests of the community first."

Democrat incumbent Hector Arzeno is seeking a third term in office. The election is slated for Nov. 3.
Mason said more information about his campaign is expected in the coming weeks.
