MIKU SUSHI Partners With The Greenwich Police Department

GREENWICH, Conn., -- In celebration of the Greenwich Police Department's 125th anniversary, MIKU SUSHI is raising money for the Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund (gpdscholarshipfund.org) through a special menu featuring three new dishes during the month of September. 100% of the proceeds from the new items on a special menu will be donated to the Department's scholarship fund which grants financial assistance to the children of active Greenwich Police Officers who qualify. The partnership will also raise awareness for the Greenwich Police Department programs and initiatives that protect merchants in the Downtown Greenwich area.

“We are proud that the Town of Greenwich Police Department has earned the reputation of being a well-trained and responsive professional organization over the past 125 years,” said Chief of Police James Heavey. He continued, “We strive for excellence and have demonstrated a sustained commitment of service to the public. I am very appreciative to be a member of this family – past, and present – and I am equally pleased that we can celebrate this milestone together. We look forward to the history we will write together in the years ahead.”

The September special menu at MIKU features Plainclothes Officer (appetizer) $19, salt and pepper lobster tempura; Bike Patrol (sashimi taco) $18 2 pieces of tuna 2 pieces of salmon; and First Responders Parade (appetizer) $22, radish wrapped black pepper tuna inside with yuzu jelly, topped with purple yam and caviar, crispy cucumber, and lychee sauce dressing.
The items were named to promote the Organized Retail Crime Activity (ORCA) team, the e-bicycle unit and the “Wearing of the Green-wich Thank You Parade” on September 19th that will honor the essential workers who helped us through the pandemic.

“As a police department, it’s important for us to celebrate, especially now. It’s been a different year due to COVID-19 and the many other stressors police officers are dealing with every day,” Heavey said. He continued, “We want the residents of Greenwich to join us in paying tribute and recognizing our Officers and staff who strive to keep Greenwich safe for everyone.”

They have done so much for our business community this past year and continue to do so much to protect us. This partnership is truly special for us and we're grateful for their outstanding service," said K Dong, MIKU Co-owner with Chef Steve Chen. Since its inception on February 1st, 2020, MIKU has raised over $20,000 for non-profit organizations in the Greenwich community. Past partners have included Food Rescue US, The FISLL Project, Fearless Angel Project, St. Jude, Red Cross, Neighbor to Neighbor, Kids in Crisis, Breast Cancer Alliance, Alzheimer's Association, and the Bruce Museum. In October MIKU will be partnering with Make-a-Wish.
