Milling, Repaving Work Slated For Route 1 In Greenwich

The work is being done by the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

GREENWICH, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation will perform milling and repaving work on Route 1 in Greenwich this month.

The work, which will start at the Greenwich/Port Chester, N.Y., border and go down to the intersection of Route 1 and Dearfield Avenue, is slated to begin on April 14. Work is scheduled to be complete May 2.

"People driving through this stretch of Route 1 can expect lane closures and there will be signs and personnel on hand to guide people through the work zone," First Selectman Fred Camillo said in his recent newsletter to the community.

There will also be night work on this project from 7 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. Sunday night through Friday morning, Camillo said.

"According to the CTDOT, the area will be milled first between April 14 and April 22 and then the resurfacing will be done from April 22 through May 2," Camillo added. "This schedule might change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, though. We will make sure residents are aware of updates to the project as we receive them."
