New CEO Named For Boys & Girls Club Of Greenwich

A resident of Riverside for over 15 years, she was chosen from a field of over 150 applicants, according to the organization.

GREENWICH, CT — The Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich announced this week Cristina Vittoria has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the organization. She will officially start the position July 1.

According to the announcement, Vittoria currently serves as the organization's vice president of development. She will succeed Bobby Walker Jr., who accepted an position at Greenwich Academy earlier this year. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

"Cristina's dedication to and expertise with both bolstering the organization's profile and member support are qualities that the Board of Directors felt were essential in our next CEO," George Fox, the organization's board chair, said in a statement. "Cristina will be a strong leader and an articulate ambassador for the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich. We are confident that [the organization] will continue to thrive under her leadership."

Vittoria has directed the organization's fundraising and marketing efforts since 2018.

Prior to this, she served as director of external relations and development at REACH Prep, a Stamford-based educational access organization, from 2014 to 2018. Her duties in this position included directing the organization's major gifts cultivation efforts, connecting REACH Prep with influential individuals and corporate giving programs.

She also spent several years working in sales, marketing and events at Chief Executive Group in Greenwich. She began her professional career began at The New Yorker magazine, where she spent a decade in advertising sales.

"It is an honor to become the CEO of this vital community organization, which impacts so many children in Greenwich," Vittoria said in a statement. "Each day, hundreds of happy kids burst through the doors of the Club, inspiring me to work diligently to increase our financial support and to raise awareness of the essential work BGCG continues to do."

The search committee worked with the Strategy Group to conduct a "focused regional search" over the last several months. Vittoria was chosen from a field of 175 applicants during a rigorous interview process with the board and administrative leadership.

"The positive feedback about Cristina from search committee members and board members alike was overwhelming," Eileen Tang, the head of the search committee, said in a statement. "Some of the adjectives used to describe Cristina were mission-driven, strategic, smart, creative, thoughtful, approachable, confident and charismatic. She is highly respected by both the Club staff and the broader community. The search committee is confident that Cristina will provide the strong leadership and vision our club needs to move into the future."

A resident of Riverside for over 15 years, Vittoria has been active in the Junior League of Greenwich and Greenwich Public Schools, as well as the Yale Alumni Association of Greenwich.
