"[Pereira] has a strong background in student oversight and holds a special passion for building and strengthening relationships with his students and fellow staff members," Jones said in a statement. "Not only does this role uniquely serve our entire GHS building, he'll also serve as a liaison to the many community organizations who support and offer services for our students, including Greenwich Together, Liberation House, Kids in Crisis and many more. I look forward to seeing the skill and energy that he brings to this position."

In his new role at Greenwich High, Pereira will be responsible for "the administration and application of all school disciplinary policies and procedures" and working to ensure a safe learning environment for all students. He will also supervise and conduct investigations of major disciplinary infractions for each of the five houses, officials said.
