New Role For One Of Connecticut's Radio Legends
Damon Scott is leaving 96.5 TIC after more than two decades for a new gig a few notches down the dial.

Damon Scott, the legendary longtime DJ on Connecticut's 96.5 TIC, is leaving the station he worked at for 27 years for a new morning gig on Country 92.5 with Cory Myers, reports Radio Insight and WFSB-TV.
Scott wrote on Facebook Wednesday thanking his fans for all the support they've shown him over the years.
"I cannot begin to express my gratitude to all of you who have listened throughout the years," wrote Scott. "Just know that if I am leaving a job I'm still number one at after 27 years, there must be something pretty sweet on the horizon."

The new radio show, "Damon & Cory," will debut at 5 a.m. on July 5 on Country 92.5.
"We are excited that a well-known local personality like Damon Scott is joining long-time morning host, Cory Myers, on Country 92-5," Steve Honeycomb, president of iHeartMedia’s Hartford Region, said in a statement. "Damon Scott is a familiar name that has been on the radio in Connecticut for years. He understands how to connect with listeners and the local community as well as what it takes to be successful in radio."

Added Scott in a statement, "When you leave on a high note after 27 successful years, you need a special plan for your return. I am excited to take the next step by joining Country 92-5 and the iHeartMedia Hartford team."
