NY Woman Tried To Buy Chanel Bag With Fake Account: Greenwich PD

The alleged attempted larceny occurred on Jan. 9.

GREENWICH, CT — A 20-year-old Flushing, NY woman was arrested by Greenwich police on Jan. 9 after she allegedly tried to fraudulently buy a $3,900 Chanel handbag from the Chanel boutique in the Saks Fifth Avenue store on Greenwich Avenue, according to Lt. David Nemecek.

Weining Su was apprehended at the store at about 5:30 p.m. after officers were dispatched to the scene on a report of an attempted fraudulent purchase.

Nemecek said Su allegedly had tried to buy the handbag by using another person's Saks account.

She was charged with larceny and interfering with an officer charges and was held in lieu of bail of $2,500. Su is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Jan. 23.
