Obituary: Joseph Yusko, 77, Longtime Greenwich Resident

Joseph enjoyed being around his wife and his extended family which included 19 grandchildren. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing and boating.

Joseph Yusko, a longtime Greenwich resident, passed away on September 21st, 2023, at age 77 surrounded by loved ones at Danbury Hospital.

Joseph was born on September 5th, 1946, to Joseph & Helen Yusko. He was a graduate of Greenwich High School and went on to serve in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home from war, he elevated his love for golf to becoming the first assistant golf professional at the former Bruce Memorial Golf Course.

Joseph moved on to work for many years as a livery driver owning his own business, named “Pars”, a homage to his love for golf, and then closed out his career working for Vestar Capital Partners for over 23 years where he was highly respected.

Joseph spent much of his free time enjoying the things that made him most happy; which were being around his wife and his extended family which included 19 grandchildren, golfing, fishing and boating. He is survived by his loving wife, Marylou Yusko, and cherished children, Jill Henderson (Chris), William Yusko (Aleisa), Melissa Povella (Chris), Michael Yusko (Kelsey), Kristin Magarelli (Steve) and James Cummings (Crystal).

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday September 28th from 4-8pm at Fred D. Knapp Funeral Home 134 Hamilton Ave Greenwich, 203-869-0315, where a service will commence at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Bendheim Cancer Center at Greenwich Hospital, www.greenwichhospital.org
