Obituary: Leslie Beran, 72, Lifelong Greenwich Resident

Leslie had a passion for art, music, and painting, and was a talented photographer.

Leslie Anne Beran, 72, passed away peacefully on her birthday July 9th, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Leslie was a lifelong resident of Greenwich.

Leslie was born the first child of Charles and Marie Beran of Riverside CT. Leslie attended Greenwich public schools and graduated from The University of Connecticut with a BA in 1976.

Leslie made lifelong friends from elementary school on; with the loving McSharry family, and of course her most loyal friend Linda Farley Noone and family.

Leslie had a passion for art, music, and painting, and was a talented photographer. She shared that passion with others, teaching photography for many years at Sacred Heart Academy in Riverside. Active in the Greenwich community, she was a member of the Riverside Garden Club, Spanish Club, and her painting group. She was also an avid tennis player and played at the Innis Arden Country Club.

In 1999, Leslie married Charles (Chuck) Tower, becoming stepmother to his three adult children, David, Chris, and Sone, and a doting grandmother to Jonah, Johanna, and Nik. Leslie also cherished her close friendship with Beeke Tower, David Towers’ first wife who lost her battle to cancer in 2006.

Leslie was predeceased by her husband, Charles Tower, and brothers Curtis Beran, Charles Beran Jr, and her sister Catherine Beran.

She is survived by her niece Leah Beran, and nephew Tyler (Carrie)Beran, both of Maine. She is also survived by her step- children David (Robin)Tower, Sone Tower (Larry D’Amico), and Chris Tower, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a great nephew.

Leslie will always be remembered for her artistry, courage, kindness, and generosity.

A Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 at 10 A.M. at St. Catherine of Siena, Riverside.
