Obituary: Maria DeBonis Ceci, 93, Of Greenwich

Maria DeBonis Ceci was born in Rose Italy on December 1, 1928 to the late Francesco DeBonis and Rosaria Orlando. Maria emigrated from Italy with her late husband, Francesco Ceci, and children, in March 1968 and settled in Cos Cob, CT. She worked for Electrolux Corporation in Old Greenwich, Ct until 1988 when she retired to care for her grandchildren.

Maria’s biggest joy was spending time with and cooking for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving children, Luigi R. Ceci and his wife Teresa of Stamford, CT, Rocco L. Ceci of Cos Cob, CT and Yolanda C. Ceci of Middletown, CT. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Francesco Ceci, Roberto Ceci, Daniel Ceci, Marco Costantini, Sam DeBonis, Rocco Ceci, Jr., Stephen Ceci and Samantha Ceci as well as her great-grandchildren, Aliya and Jeremiah Ceci. She is also survived by her sister Genoveffa Petrasso of Moltalto Uffugo Scalo, Italy as well as many nieces and nephews in the US and in Italy.

Maria was predeceased by her loving husband, Francesco Ceci, her two sisters Stellina and Rita and her brother Leopoldo.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Castiglione Funeral Home, 544 Old Post Rd #3, Greenwich, CT. A mass will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 5 Riverside Ave, Riverside, CT. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Maria’s memory to Alzheimer's Association, CT Chapter, 200 Executive Blvd, Ste 4b, Southington, CT 06489
