Officers Chase, Arrest ATM Scammer From Greenwich Chase Bank
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, July 17, on West Putnam Avenue.

GREENWICH, CT — A 31-year-old Brooklyn, NY man led police on a brief foot chase before being tackled and arrested Monday afternoon, July 17, after he allegedly tried to use fraudulent debit cards to withdraw money from an ATM at a Chase Bank on West Putnam Avenue, according to Greenwich police.
No injuries were reported following the chase, which occurred at about 4:45 p.m. Officers were called to the bank on a report of what the suspect was trying to do, and when he saw officers approaching, he ran off and was caught nearby.
Arrested on multiple charges, including fourth-degree larceny, third-degree identity theft and illegal use of a credit card, was Shevon Charles.

Officers found five fraudulent debit cards in his possession. He was held in lieu of a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on July 31.
