The spill occurred at an auto dealership in central Greenwich.

GREENWICH, CT — An accidental spill at New Country Audi on West Putnam Avenue in Greenwich Wednesday afternoon dumped close to 400 gallons of motor oil into nearby Horseneck Brook, reports the Greenwich Time.
Booms contained much of the oil downstream near Field Point Road and Prospect Street. The spill occurred when there was a malfunction involving a contractor in the collection of the used oil, according to the publication.
No injuries were reported, and the public was not in danger from the spill, however, firefighters had to rescue an egret that was soaked in oil. The bird was cleaned and released.
