Old Greenwich Resident Bill Evans to Emcee Walk, Run & Ride

Old Greenwich resident and Senior Meteorologist for Channel 7 Eyewitness News in the Morning and Eyewitness at Noon Bill Evans will serve as emcee for Stamford Hospital’s Bennett Cancer Center’s Hope in Motion Walk, Run & Ride event this year. The Walk, Run & Ride will be held on Sunday, June 2, National Cancer Survivor’s Day, in downtown Stamford’s Columbus Park. Organizers of the event, now in its 19th year, expect a turnout of over 4,500 people. Supporters can register teams in advance and choose to participate in a 5K Walk, 5K Run or a 10-, 20- or 50-mile bike ride. “We are thrilled to welcome Bill as our emcee this year,” said Kari Pollak, Stamford Hospital Foundation’s Manager of Special Events. “He has supported several of the Hospital’s events throughout the years and is always quick to offer his time and participation. His energetic and entertaining personality is sure to please the crowd.” Evans served as the emcee for Stamford Hospital Foundation’s Dream Ball gala in 2011 and attends the Bennett Cancer Center’s Mile of Pink event every October, one of several educational events held during the Center’s Paint the Town Pink breast cancer awareness campaign.
