Pair Of Greenwich Zip Codes Among Nation's Wealthiest: New Report

GREENWICH, CT — Two Greenwich zip codes - 06878 in Riverside and 06831 in Greenwich - are among the nation's wealthiest, according to a new report from Bloomberg. The Riverside zip code is the 17th richest, while the Greenwich one is the 20th richest.

"To no one's surprise, neighborhoods in California and the New York tri-state area comprise a majority of the top 20 richest U.S. zip codes," writes authors Shelly Hagan and Wei Lu. "States with favorable tax structures like Florida and Wyoming are drawing the wealthy, too."

In fact, 10 of the top 20 wealthiest zip codes are from California, Connecticut, New Jersey or New York, while Florida boasts the first, third and 15th richest zip codes: Fisher's Island, Palm Beach and Naples.

Riverside has an average adjusted gross income of $661,500, according to Bloomberg based on IRS data. The Greenwich zip code of 06831 has adjusted gross income of $626,200.

Greenwich's most expensive property for sale is the 19,773 square-foot waterside mansion, formerly owned by President Donald Trump, listed at $45 million.

New Canaan's 06840 zip code came in as the nation's 29th wealthiest with an adjusted gross income of $580,500, while Darien's 06820 came in at #33 with an adjusted gross income of 566,100.

6. 19035: Gladwyne, Penn. ($957K)
7. 90067: Los Angeles, Calif. ($905K)
8. 60043: Kenilworth, Ill. ($861K)
9. 02493: Weston, Mass. ($860K)
10. 94111: San Francisco, Calif. ($776K)
