Fall is all about football. So whether you’re a fan of the Jets, Giants, Patriots or Cowboys, these area bars are the perfect spots to set up camp, grab a pitcher of beer or a bite of grub and watch a game. Be sure to call ahead to make sure your choice games are playing

Bobby Valentine’s (225 Main St., Stamford; 203-348-0010): With more than 50 TVs and walls cloaked in sports memorabilia, Bobby V’s is the quintessential sports bar, and the favorite of many locals. The menu of food and drinks is extensive, too. But be warned: The biggest games will ultimately bring the biggest crowds, so if the Giants or the Jets make it to the playoffs or the Yankees battle the Red Sox and you would like to score the best seat in the house, be sure to arrive early.

Sundown Saloon (403 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich; 203-629-8212): Feast on American and Southwestern favorites – burgers, mac n’ cheese, quesadillas and more – and enjoy daily while watching the game on Sundown’s 42-inch hi-definition TVs. The bar promises sports fans “all of your favorite teams in action.”

Buffalo Wild Wings (208 Summer St., Stamford; 203-324-9453): Like good, cheap food and beer on football nights? This sports bar chain stands out for its dozen or so flavors of spicy, sweet and super-hot Buffalo wings. At the Stamford location, plenty of TVs line the bar and ample dining area, so you’ll be sure to get your fix.

MacKenzies Grill Room (148 Sound Beach Ave., Old Greenwich, 203-698-0223): Though it can be a tad bit quieter on game nights than other sports bar, we love this tavern’s beer specials and British pub fare. The menu is loaded with salads, sandwiches and entrees you won’t find at other destinations. Game on!

Black Bear Saloon (261 Main St., Stamford; 203-324-4448): Chow down on nachos loaded with chili, or bite-size, boneless chicken wings while keeping your eyes glued to one of this bar’s big-screen plasma TVs. As of this season, the bar’s website boasts of drinks specials for Jets fans: Every time the Jets are up, domestic drafts go down to $3, and imported drafts drop to $4.
