Pay Raises Approved by Greenwich BET for Elected Officials
Elected officials can look forward to an increase in the next two years.

GREENWICH, CT — The Board of Estimate and Taxation voted infavor of increasing salaries of elected officials by two percent for each of the next two years.
The first selectman salary would rise to $142,000 next year, selectmen would get $14,200, the tax collector $101,962 and the town clerk $104,002, according to the Greenwich Time.
There was a brief discussion on the tax collector's salary. Last year BET members tried to cut the position's salary in half, but it wasn't allowed since the tax collector was in the middle of a term. Instead the tax department's budget was reduced by 50 percent.
