ID Released in Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Greenwich: UPDATE

The pedestrian was struck by a tractor trailer Saturday afternoon. The man's car had run out of gas and he was trying to push his vehicle.

GREENWICH, CT — Carlos Coyt-Orozco, of Port Chester, New York died as a result of injuries sustained after being struck by a tractor trailer Saturday afternoon on Interstate 95, according to FOX 61.

Coyt-Orozco's vehicle had run out of gas, and he pulled over to the right shoulder and was trying to push the vehicle along with his passenger, State Police said.

John Hoffman of Gloucester, New Jersey, who was driving a tractor trailer hit a "curvature in the road," according to Fox 61, and then was blinded by the sun and ended up hitting Coyt-Orozco.

The accident is under investigation and Hoffman immediately stopped and cooperated with authorities.

GREENWICH, CT — A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a tractor trailer in Greenwich Saturday, according to Connecticut State Police.

The right lane and center lane of I-95 southbound on the Connecticut/New York border were closed as of 4:18 p.m. The pedestrian was taken to Westchester County Hospital.

Further details are not known.
