GREENWICH, CT — A person was struck by a train near the Cos Cob Metro-North Train Station early Wednesday evening around 6 p.m., according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

The Greenwich Time reported the Medical Examiner was on scene shortly after 8:30 p.m. to complete the investigation.

No details have been released yet about the person involved.

The New Haven Line experienced delays of up to 45 minutes as police investigated. Trains departing from Stamford were not stopping at Old Greenwich, Riverside and Cos Cob.

As of 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, the New Haven Line was operating on or close to schedule, the MTA said.

Capt. Mark Zuccerella of the Greenwich Police Department said GPD officers responded to the scene first, before giving way to the MTA police.
