Person Dies After Being Hit By Train Near Greenwich: Officials
The incident occurred at approximately 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, according to an MTA spokesperson.

GREENWICH, CT — A person was struck and killed by a train Tuesday morning near Greenwich, according to officials.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:20 a.m. when a westbound train struck an unauthorized person on the tracks, a Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesperson told Patch. The 50 customers who were aboard the train were safely transferred to another train between 6:27 a.m. an 6:31 a.m. There were no injuries to those on the train.
The New Haven Line service was temporarily suspended before 6 a.m. after the incident occurred, but it was restored a short time later.

After brief delays, service is now operating on or close to schedule, Metro-North Railroad said around 9:30 a.m.
The MTA Police Department is investigating the incident.
