GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich community flocked to Roger Sherman Baldwin Park on Saturday, May 25, for the annual Greenwich Town Party.

The popular family-friendl music festival was headlined by Grammy-Award winning folk/rock band Mumford & Sons. Colorado-based Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats also took the Main Stage with their powerful blend of folk, rhythm and blues.

In addition, the lineup included beloved Nashville lifestyle band The Cameroons, along with local fan favorite Drew Angus.

Celebrating community spirit and town pride, this volunteer-supported event once again kicked off Memorial Day Weekend with show-stopping live music, local food favorites, and family fun.

During the event, the GTP Board of Directors announced an endowment that will keep the popular party going for years to come.

Philanthropist and GTP Founder Ray Dalio has financially supported the GTP with patrons and sponsors over the last 13 years. He has now pledged to match all donations up to $5 million, which will give the GTP a $10 million endowment. They are asking for widespread participation at all levels from the community who love the event and want to see it continue for generations.

In a subsequent email blast to ticket-holders, Dalio wrote: “Whatever your level of support, the fact that you are supporting the GTP will mean a great deal to all those who are supporting it, in one way or another.”

The doors opened at 10 a.m. with kids’ activities, non-profit tables and local food vendors. The Ninth District Veterans Association Color Guard opened the Town Stage. The Melody Men then performed God Bless America, followed by the United States Military Academy’s West Point Band’s performance of several upbeat, patriotic songs.

The Town Stage, a popular tradition of the GTP, featured a lineup of several local bands that rounded out the day’s performances, including Fashionably Late, School of Rock Greenwich, Rock Paper Soul Band, MOJO, Outcalls, harf. and Cenzo. These bands with local roots and familiar names performed on the same ticket as world-renowned musicians.

Held annually on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, the GTP brings multiple generations of Greenwich residents together to celebrate town pride and the spirit of giving through live music, local food favorites, and family fun activities.

Since 2011, the Greenwich Town Party has hosted some of the biggest names in music, including Billy Joel, Eric Clapton, The Eagles, Hall & Oates, Zac Brown Band, and Buddy Guy.
