Katie DeLuca was appointed as director of planning & zoning in 2014.

GREENWICH, CT — After over two decades of service to Greenwich, Director of Planning & Zoning Katie DeLuca will be leaving her position at the end of this year.
DeLuca notified the town in July of her decision to leave. She said she will stay on to "ensure a smooth transition and seamless service to the town" through the end of this year.
The Greenwich Time reported that DeLuca moved to California earlier this year.

"It has been a very rewarding and fulfilling 23 years serving the town and I am very proud of what we have been able to accomplish together," DeLuca said in a statement. "Greenwich has not only been a wonderful place to grow up, but also a very rewarding place to work, and now I look forward to experiencing Greenwich from a new perspective."
DeLuca moved to Greenwich from England at the age of 8. She graduated from Greenwich Academy and earned a master’s degree in geography from the University of Connecticut, and joined the Greenwich Planning and Zoning Department in 1999.

DeLuca was appointed director in 2014.
Over her tenure, DeLuca has played a key role in putting together the town's 2019 Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD), which serves as a guiding document for the town on physical and economic development. The plan is developed every 10 years.
She also helped to create an affordable housing plan for the town, and helped establish an affordable housing trust fund.
Planning & Zoning Commission Chair Margarita Alban praised DeLuca for her service to the town.
"Katie has an extraordinary skill set. It's been guided by her deep roots in and commitment to our town. For me, her single most important contribution has been to include and respect all stakeholders in any challenge we face," Alban said. "That, paired with dedication, efficiency and professional expertise have enabled P&Z to take major strides during her tenure. It has been an honor to partner with her."
First Selectman Fred Camillo also spoke highly of DeLuca.
"For 23 years she was a constant and vibrant presence at town hall. When she took over leading the department, she took on an even greater role and was even more present in the lives of many people here in town and she did a terrific job. Surely we will miss her greatly," Camillo said.
Camillo highlighted DeLuca's work on affordable housing.
"She certainly was one of the key players in addressing the need for affordable housing and also making sure that she supported the concept of local control, knowing full well that those who live and work in the town know it much better than someone in Hartford. In that respect she was a great help," Camillo added.
A job posting for a new P&Z Director has been posted on the town's website.
