Officers found three people who tried to flee the scene on foot, police said. One person was apprehended immediately, and was in possession of "burglary tools", police said. The other two people fled south on Weaver Street.
Officers established a perimeter to prevent the two people from leaving the area, police said, and help was requested from the Stamford Police Department and Port Chester Police Department K-9 Units. The Westchester County Police Aviation Unit assisted with a helicopter.

"At approximately 9:10 p.m., the search for the subjects was concluded as it was determined they were no longer in the area," police said in an update.
The GPD thanked all agencies involved, and the local residents who called the dispatch center with information.
Police said an investigation will continue. Anyone with information about the incident on Wednesday night is asked to call the GPD at 203-622-8004 (24 hour line), or the department's confidential tip line at 203-622-3333, or email at TIPS@greenwichct.org
Police would not say if the incident on Wednesday is connected to another burglary in the area that occurred on Nov. 28.
"That's something investigators will have to determine," Lt. Martin O'Reilly of the GPD said.
On Nov. 28 just after 8 p.m., according to an arrest report, police responded to a home on Lismore Lane on the western side of Greenwich on a report of a burglar alarm from the kitchen door and rear foyer.
The arrest report noted that police found two males dressed in all black in the front yard of the home, but they fled on foot.
Police said they found a car nearby occupied by a female, later identified as Daniela Del Pilar Ortiz Alamos, of Miami, Fla., who said she was "assisting in an organized residential burglary," the arrest report said.
Police searched the home but didn't find anyone, the arrest report said; the burglars had entered the home by using an unknown tool to pry a side door open.
Ortiz Alamos was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, and conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary. She was unable to post a $100,000 bond. She's due in court on Dec. 13, the arrest report said.

Residents are being asked to stay indoors, although police said there is no danger to the public at this time.
