Police Announce Upcoming DUI Checkpoints In Greenwich: See When, Where
Officers will be stationed at high-traffic locations within town. Motorists are being advised to expect brief stops, according to police.
GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich police are set to ramp up DUI enforcement with checkpoints this week.
Impaired driving sobriety checkpoints will be in place on Dec. 14 and Dec. 15 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., according to police.
Officers will be stationed at high-traffic locations within town including on East Putnam Avenue, West Putnam Avenue, Arch Street and Delavan Avenue, police said in an announcement.

"The checkpoints are part of an initiative to increase public awareness and education regarding the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs," police said. "Motorists in Greenwich during these hours are advised to expect brief stops and are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly. The primary goal of this operation is traffic safety through deterrence and detection of impaired driving."
