GREENWICH, CT — Police are investigating two recent knife crimes that occurred in town, and have also dispelled rumors of a recent stabbing. According to Lt. Mark Zuccerella, a rumor has been circulating regarding a stabbing at Bruce Park, however that information is incorrect.

"There was no stabbing in Bruce Park," Zuccerella said in an email. "We did get a call of a man with a laceration at Greenwich Hospital who related he was cut near Havemeyer Field. Officers on scene revealed no crime."

Zuccerella said police were, however, investigating a "knife incident" that occurred in Cos Cob about a week ago. He also said he hoped to have more information about this incident soon. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Police are also still investigating a stabbing that occurred in the Byram area of town on April 23. At the time of the incident, Zuccerella said officers had determined two women were inside a local business when a third woman arrived and got into a physical fight with them.

A knife was used at one point during the fight and one woman was stabbed, according to Zuccerella. She was taken to Greenwich Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
