Popular CT Radio Host Gone From WICC 600
He had been with the AM station for decades.

Jim Buchanan, the longtime radio host on Connecticut's WICC 600, was let go from the station last week after more than 30 years, according to a post on his Facebook page.
A Bridgeport resident, Buchanan's afternoon show, "Talk Of The Town," has been replaced by a nationally syndicated program featuring financial guru Dave Ramsey, reports OnlyInBridgeport.com.
As recently as Sept. 11, the Cumulus Media-owned station was touting a Buchanan interview on its Facebook page with the Greater Bridgeport Symphony's Mark Halstead, but neither the Facebook page nor the station's website mentioned Buchanan's departure.

"It was my true pleasure to Serve and Protect The Public Good for all these many years," wrote Buchanan on Facebook. "I hope we will talk again soon. God Bless."
Well wishes from fans poured onto his Facebook page, many of which he took the time to acknowledge and offer his thanks. His future is uncertain, but he hopes to land another radio gig, according to OnlyInBridgeport.

Added Rita M. Reali, "So, so sorry to hear this, my dear friend. You were always a class act and a real gentleman, Jim. Thank you for the years of great service to the greater Bridgeport area, wonderful entertainment, information and companionship on the ride home. Used to listen to you online from time to time these past four years... Gonna miss doing that now. Sending love and prayers for better things."
