Popular Fast-Casual Salad Chain Eyes Greenwich Location

Two retail spaces are proposed to be consolidated to house a location for a popular fast-casual salad chain restaurant.

GREENWICH, CT — A popular fast-casual salad chain is looking to open a location in Greenwich.

Just Salad 409 East Putnam Avenue LLC and the property owner, UB Greenwich I LLC, are proposing to consolidate two retail spaces within Cos Cob Plaza formerly occupied by AT&T and a hair salon and convert them into restaurant use, documents submitted to the Greenwich Planning & Zoning Commission say.

Cos Cob Plaza is located at 393 E. Putnam Ave. The former AT&T store (retail use) occupied 1,599 square feet, and the hair salon (personal service use) occupied 729 square feet.

Customer flow will primarily be dine-in and takeout with delivery support.

Cos Cob Plaza features 55 parking spaces. The AT&T store required eight of them while the salon required 20, submitted documents note. The planned restaurant will require 11 spaces.

Just Salad started in 2006 to provide "healthy, affordable, climate-conscious meals that are irresistibly delicious."

There are now over 100 locations across seven states.

"We make everyday health and sustainability possible. How? Through fresh-prepped produce, house-made dressings, and high-quality proteins—including plenty of plant-based options like vegan, vegetarian, plus gluten-free. Every bite is prepared with care, using flavorful, thoughtfully sourced ingredients that taste great and feel good, any time of year," the company's website says.

"We’re committed to what truly matters—community—and making our people the top priority. From the warm welcome you get when you walk through our doors to the convenience of digital ordering and pickup on a busy day, we’re here to create real, memorable connections and make every interaction count."

The menu at Just Salad has a variety of salads customers can choose from, or they can make their own creation. There are also "Market Plates," which combine a premium protein, grains and a seasonal side, as well as warm bowls, wraps, and smoothies.

There are other Just Salad locations in Fairfield, West Hartford and Westport. A location for Norwalk is listed as "coming soon."

Other locations are in Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C.

The proposal is expected to go before the Greenwich Planning & Zoning Commission in the coming weeks.
