Porch Collapse Injures 6 In Greenwich: Police

The incident occurred Thursday night at a home in back country Greenwich.

GREENWICH, CT — Six people suffered minor injuries Thursday night when a porch collapsed at a home in back country Greenwich, according to police.

Greenwich fire officials said the incident occurred on Londonderry Road, and none of the injured required treatment at the hospital.

"Upon arrival of emergency responders it was discovered that approximately 30 adults were on a deck attached to a residence when it collapsed," stated Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz. "Six people suffered minor injuries and were examined at the scene."

Additional details were not immediately available on the cause of the collapse, but police said the members of the town's Building Department were called to the scene to inspect the structure.
