Possible Date For September Primaries In Greenwich Announced
The deadline for an elector to change from one party to another and be eligible to vote in their new party's primary is fast approaching.
GREENWICH, CT — Municipal primaries are a rare occurrence in Greenwich, but should they be held for one or both of the major political parties, the Greenwich Registrars of Voters announced a potential primary day of Sept. 12.
Only voters registered with a party can vote in that party’s primary. To check your voter registration status, check online here.

June 12 is the deadline for an elector to change from one party to another and be eligible to vote in their new party’s primary.
If you are registered as an unaffiliated voter (not registered with any party) the deadline to affiliate with a party by mail is Sept. 7. Mail-in applications must be received by this date. The in-person deadline is Sept. 11 by 12 p.m.

Online voter registration is available here. For new voters registering by mail, the postmark must be on or before Sept. 7.
According to the Greenwich Registrars of Voters, the current breakdown among party affiliations in Greenwich is:
- Unaffiliated: 14,794 voters
- Democratic Party: 11,484 voters
- Republican Party: 10,956 voters
- Independent Party: 598 voters
- Libertarian Party: 53 voters
- Green Party: 10 voters
