Power Continues To Be Restored In Greenwich After Storm

The number of Eversource utility customers without power continues to slowly drop on Monday.

GREENWICH, CT — The town continues to slowly make progress on the cleanup following Friday's nor'easter, as the number of Eversource customers in Greenwich has dropped to 1,191 without power as of 9:02 a.m. on Monday, March 5, according to the utility company.

Greenwich police also issued the following update on the recovery:

"The first storm has passed and we are on our way to recovery," wrote police officials. "There are numerous areas where power is out and trees and wires are down. [Eversource] has assured us that they are working as
quickly as possible to restore service and get these roadways open. Please do not go near or touch any wire even if the power is off in your area. It may still be energized and cause serious injury or death.

"A new storm is forecasted for the middle of the week. Residents should prepare for another round of high wind, coastal flooding, rain, and snow."

The town's public schools were open on a normal schedule Monday, despite some roads around town remaining closed.

Below is a list of roads that were closed as of about 10 p.m. on Sunday night, but some of those may have since been reopened.
