Power Being Restored In Greenwich Tuesday Night: Update

Eversource states that a large percentage of the town was without power Tuesday evening, Sept. 4.

GREENWICH, CT — Following Tuesday evening's outage, power was expected to be restored in Greenwich by about 10 p.m., according to Eversource spokesperson Mitch Gross. At one point, more than 10,000 of Eversource's customers in town were without power Tuesday evening, Sept. 4.

"Indications are that tonight’s power issues in Greenwich were due to problems with a couple of underground cables," wrote Gross in a statement. "We are currently re-routing power to the affected customers and barring any complications, our goal is to have everyone back on by 10 p.m."

As of 9:02 p.m. on Tuesday, just over 4,400 customers in Greenwich were still without power, stated Eversource on its website.
